Mr. Edward Mungai is the Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Climate Innovation Center (KCIC). The KCIC supports a holistic, country driven approach to accelerate the development, deployment and transfer of locally relevant climate technologies to the private sector.
Before joining KCIC, Edward was the East Africa Region head for the Danish International Investments Fund. He has worked for KPMG East Africa in Corporate finance and Transactions services focusing on the financial services sector. Mr. Mungai has a multifaceted background in Business Advisory, Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Investment management.
Edward has thorough experience in development financing mechanisms for private sector, with special interests in the agribusiness, renewable energy, financial services, and water and sanitation sectors. Mr. Mungai is a 2016 Eisenhower Fellow and sits in several boards as well as a faculty at Strathmore Business School where he teaches Corporate Sustainability and Innovation to executives .
He is passionate about sustainable development and the role of Private sector as a driver for sustainable development in Africa.
His vision is to continually lead the push for Corporate Sustainability in Kenya and inspiring the new age generation to have ‘own’ initiatives when it comes to development challenges and finding solutions.
